Andrea Baird
Improving Glazing System Performance for Healthcare Facilities
Andrea Baird has over 15 years of architectural experience specializing in building enclosure consulting, commissioning, evaluation, and repair design. Her expertise includes building enclosure design review, forensic investigation, diagnostic and performance testing, and building enclosure analysis using software such as THERM and WUFI.
She has considerable roofing and waterproofing experience in the areas of investigation, testing, and development of repair design drawings and specifications. Her knowledge of waterproofing and roofing systems includes below-grade, plaza, single-ply membrane, metal, slate, and built-up roofing.
She has provided litigation support services in the areas of investigation, depositions, and document review on related failures. Located in West Michigan, Ms. Baird has extensive experience consulting on new and existing healthcare facilities.

I received my Bachelors of Business degree from Western Illinois University and my MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management. Nick has spent the past 15+ years serving in healthcare, life science and biopharmaceutical environments. In the past two years I've been focused on raising awareness and addressing water quality in dialysis and healthcare in an effort to reduce healthcare associated infections. The focus of my discussion would revolve around the latest Regulations (AAMI ST-108) and Guidance (ASHRAE 514) related to water quality that impacts your healthcare facilities today.

An Dubois employee since 2009, Joe is currently a Regional Sales Manager for the Midwest region, responsible for Business growth throughout the region. Joe is developing process solutions for the DuBois customer base and has been instrumental in the implementation of our remote monitoring and analytics tools. He has significant experience with Water Safety and Legionella control. He presented at the NSF Legionella Conference 2018 and 2019 as well as the 2019 ASHRAE Conference on Secondary Disinfection in Premise Plumbing Systems.
Joe has served as a Board Member of MiSHE (Michigan Society of Healthcare Engineers) and is a past of president of the South Eastern Michigan Power Plant Engineers Society. Other organizations he is a member of include AWT (Association of Water Technologies), SMSHE (Southeast Michigan Society of Healthcare Engineers) and American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) TC 3.6 Program Chair

Lisa Hardesty

Lisa Hardesty, MA, CHSP, CFI, HEM, is the newly appointed Director of Strategic Alignment and Innovation at Montgomery Facility Solutions (MFS). With over 30 years of experience in the environment of care, life safety, emergency management, sustainability, and construction, Lisa brings extensive expertise and a passion for transformative change. Prior to joining MFS, she served as the Director of Global Consulting at Joint Commission Resources (JCR), where she collaborated with numerous health systems to enhance compliance, standardize risk mitigation, and develop actionable plans. Lisa is dedicated to creating innovative solutions that go beyond compliance and stand the test of time.

Joe Humphries
A Facility Directors Role with Safety and Security in the Healthcare Setting
Director of Safety and Security/Client Services, The LockOut Company, LLC
Armed with practical hands-on experience in the areas of safety, security, and training, Joe joined Codenity, a code compliance firm to lead the firm’s preparedness and safety division in 2014. Joe has and continues to perform on-site security assessments all over the U.S. within facilities to identify areas of risk and vulnerability, and then worked with the facilities’ management team to provide viable solutions and programs to mitigate risks. Joe has personally trained over 18 thousand healthcare workers, teachers, and administrative staff in workplace violence, active shooter, de-escalation techniques, and customer service. Joe’s applied knowledge was earned by devoting 25 years to his communities as a Police Officer, Firefighter, Medical first responder, and K-9 handler/trainer. Joe is retired from the Kalamazoo Dept of Public Safety, having served his last 16 years as a supervisor and shift commander of a 270-person department. Joe also has extensive training in incident management, fire ground and hazardous material command, risk management, and Department of Justice training in response to weapons of mass destruction. Joe also enjoys teaching as a training instructor and faculty member at multiple colleges in Michigan.

Jim Kendig
Joint Commission Update
James Kendig is a Field Director for the Life Safety Code Surveyors/Engineers at The Joint Commission. In this role, he oversees approximately 50 of the Surveyor cadre who specialize in surveying The Joint Commission’s life safety, environment of care, and emergency management standards. Previously, Mr. Kendig also served as a Joint Commission Life Safety Code Surveyor. Prior to joining The Joint Commission, Mr. Kendig was a Vice President and Safety Officer for a four-hospital system in Florida on the “Space Coast”. Mr. Kendig maintains certifications as a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional and Healthcare Environmental Manager.

Maureen is a principal of the firm and provides oversight for the mechanical engineering discipline, as well as the health and wellness team. She is passionate about mentoring staff and collaborating with clients, believing these efforts are interconnected. As a trusted strategic partner, Maureen helps clients understand engineered systems, identifies problems, and sets long-term building performance goals. She specializes in complex healthcare environments, campus planning and mission critical environments. Maureen provides HVAC consulting from site selection and lease negotiations to design and construction administration. Dr. Linda Lee

Dr. Linda D. Lee is the Chief Medical Affairs & Science Officer with UV Angel and is a qualified public health professional focusing on the relationship of opportunistic environmental pathogens. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Health Science from Indiana State University. She earned a Master’s in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas - College of Engineering. She completed a Doctorate in Public Health in Occupational and Environmental Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Lee also holds an MBA with an emphasis in Healthcare Management and is a certified indoor air quality manager and Certified Infection Preventionist (CIC).

Other credentials include NETA III, Master Electrician, ISA, and CCST III. He also serves on the board for Ann Arbor Electrical Apprenticeship (JATC).
