Who’s Coming?

Want to see who’s attending the conference? Click on Attendees and view a list of MiSHE Conference Participants. Click on Vendors and view a list of Exhibitors scheduled to present information, products and services. Please note that these lists are periodically updated until the week of the conference. Both lists have a tendency to grow as we get closer to conference time.

How do I make room reservations?

Both participants and vendors are responsible for making their own room arrangements. MiSHE will furnish information about the hotel and conference room registration process only   Read the accommodation page and use the registration form found on the conference information page. The registration form must be used to make room reservations. Because several conference participants are able to share rooms and so that there is reduced confusion about room registration, no call-in reservations will be accepted.

If I want to be a Vendor, how much does a booth cost?

Vendor exhibit fees are $800 and include breakfast and lunch for up to two (2) booth members and access to all conference sessions. Banquet tickets can be purchased for $35. The booth price is for two attending representatives. Additional representatives can participate for the cost of $40 each.

·

As a vendor, how do I sign up to make a presentation?

If your company ( Exhibitors ONLY) would like to make a presentation that you feel fits the conference theme, submit a paragraph describing the presentation and a title.  Presentations will be chosen from those submitted by the Conference Planning Committee.  All presentations must fit a 40 minute time period and will be offered after the Technical Show starting at 3:35 p.m.  There are six presentation slots with two sessions of three concurrent sessions offered to participants.  Send your talk for consideration to:  misheconf@mishe.org.

·

Extended Show Area

This area is shaded in yellow and is reserved for those vendors who are interested in staying setup until after the last break of the day (3:35 pm). Afternoon refreshment items are placed in this show area for participants and vendors to share. This area is segregated from the rest of the show area by the same backdrop material (pipe and drape) that made up the individual booth areas. This is the last contact time with participants where company material can be readily available for participants. It is a great way to wrap up the day!

·

How do I find directions to the conference?

The website is the best place to find conference location and direction information. Click on the listed conference icon and go to their website for further information about the facilities, location and directions.

·

What if I don't golf or play regularly?

Check the conference agenda for more information. Many of our members who don't golf on a regular basis are still VERY welcome to participate in the golf outing. It’s designed more for business communication and sharing of experiences than a golf competition. You can make your own team, join any existing team, if there are openings, or allow yourself to be assigned to a team. Remember, it's for fun and information! Sometimes there are alternative events. Check the conference agenda for any additional events.

·

Is the conference always in September?

Yes, we always schedule the conference for the last part of September each year, depending on the calendar.

I’m not a member, how do I belong?

MiSHE provides an online application. Membership to a Regional Chapter includes membership to MiSHE. There are several types of membership (as taken from the Bylaws):

Professional Members

A Professional membership in MISHE shall include persons having responsibility in engineering (maintenance), or supporting departments of a Michigan healthcare facility and/or a Professional member of a healthcare engineering association.  Only Professional members in good standing may vote, be recognized or hold office in MISHE.

 Associate Members

Associate members of MISHE shall include individuals who work with or call on healthcare institutions or organizations that do not have direct healthcare engineering responsibilities and are typically not employees of a healthcare institution or organization.  Associate members may participate in meetings of the general membership but shall not have voting privileges.

Lifetime Members

A member in good standing who retires after 10 years of Professional membership may be elected to Lifetime member status by indicating a desire to maintain an interest in hospital engineering and continue to participate in MISHE activities on a yearly basis.  Lifetime members shall not have voting privileges and must be nominated by a Michigan Regional Chapter or a MISHE Board Member. Approval of the request will be by a simple majority vote of the Board of Directors.

Honorary Members

Honorary membership may be granted annually to such persons of distinction as are deemed worthy by the Board of Directors.  Nominations for Honorary memberships must be submitted by a Michigan Regional Chapter or MISHE Board Members.  Honorary members may participate in meetings of the general membership but shall not have voting privileges.
