Biography:

Jim Safran is President and CEO of Beaumont Services Company, L.L.C., an affiliate company of Beaumont Hospitals. Beaumont Services Company provides biomedical engineering, technology management, facility maintenance, and facility design and construction services to William Beaumont’s three hospitals and outpatient facilities. He is also President and CEO of Optim, a company that provides consulting and management services to healthcare facilities nationwide.

Keynote Address: “Bridges – Linking Healthcare Facilities Owners and Communities”

Hospital engineers oversee highly complex projects that involve “stakeholders” with different objectives, priorities and concerns. Jim’s presentation will cover the technical design/construction issues associated with installation of a 600 foot long pedestrian “skyramp” that spans a busy roadway, connecting Beaumont – Troy Hospital with several ambulatory care facilities. His presentation will also describe project related “stakeholder” issues as the skyramp connects:

· Two different counties – Oakland and Macomb

· Buildings with two different owners
