Biography:

 

Douglas Foyteck has 34 plus years experience in water treatment field applications, testing and equipment.  His background includes experience in: engineering; sizing and supervision of the installation; start up; of conversion of absorption and central cooling systems to computerized load shedding; and direct free cooling without the use of heat exchangers.  He has specified and engineered chemical feed systems for sewage plants, boiler systems, cooling systems, and medical and manufacturing facilities.  Doug has designed, specified and commissioned passive vent condensers. He is also an innovator of “state of the art” methods in water treatment (Patent Application).

 

Mr. Foyteck holds the following professional licenses and certifications:  State of MI Contractor; State of MI Unlimited Refrigeration; State of MI Unlimited Steam Boilers & HVAC; State of California Registered Environmental Assessor; Registered Environmental Professional-National Registry; Certified Environmental Inspector-Environmental Assessment Assoc.; Pesticide Trainer and Commercial Pesticide Applicator.

 

Douglas is an active member of the Southeast Regional Chapter of MiSHE.  He also has affiliations with A.S.H.R.A.E., Michigan Boiler Inspectors Assoc., American Water Works Assoc., National Assoc. of Corrosion Engineers, Water Pollution Control Federation and Michigan WPCA.

This presentation will cover the advantages and disadvantages of UV light for disinfection in fluid systems.  A lively audience-lead, question and answer exchange will round out the presentation and address the questions of  how UV light works to disinfect, where to place the device, and what can be expected in a water-based solution.
