Letter from the President of WMSHE

January 2009

Greetings!

I trust the first few days of 2009 have gotten off to a good start.  As we sail through the murky weather of economic uncertainty, each of us at our organizations will want to be sure we are efficient - in how we use our energy, utilizing our staff or outside contractors – even our time at the office each day.

We belong to the West Michigan Regional Chapter and the Michigan Society for Healthcare Engineering because we share a common bond of working within the healthcare field.  I challenge each of us to stay active and connected with others in our West Michigan group - to learn what the best practices are, where there is money to be saved, what new regulations/standards might be looming on the horizon.

When you get that email announcing the next meeting or education topic, don’t just discard it.  Make the effort to attend.

Often, we look at a meeting or training session and ask ourselves “What will I get out of this?”   Rather, the question should be “What can I offer so that others can learn from me?”

See you around…
