Pre-Conference Certification Preparation Workshops (see Registration Fees at a Glance) – Tuesday the 23rd:

Both of these workshops start at 10:00 AM and run until 5:00 PM. Lunch is included in the cost. Participants will be provided with material as described in each description.

CHFM – This workshop is designed for Michigan Facilities Managers who are interested in taking the CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager) certification test. The workshop is divided into five sections that make up the CHFM test. Participants will be provided information about the makeup of the test, questions, and categories. Participants will learn about the five categories that are part of the test; practice answering sample questions in each category; and get practice with a sample test. Since the CHFM test requires that it be taking predominantly online, participants will need to register to take the test at one of three down-state locations sanctioned by AHA (the American Hospital Association). It is suggested that this workshop be used to identify strengths and weaknesses, and that these be used for the basis of further preparation to take the CHFM test in the weeks or months following this workshop. Electronic links and other information will be provided.

MECH – This workshop is designed for both the healthcare mechanic and the facilities manager. The workshop is designed to introduce the testing process and to prepare both the mechanic and the facilities engineer by providing several different ways to prepare, long-term, to implement the MECH program. Participants will learn about several study and training processes, the makeup of the test, questions and categories. Participants will also receive a MECH Preparation Guide with sample questions and all of the information provided during the workshop. At the end of this workshop, participants have the option to take the MECH certification test but need to pre-pay and pre-register for the test by the 8th of September.

Networking Sessions – Wednesday the 24th:

This conference provides activity sessions designed to allow Facilities Managers and Engineers the time to become acquainted with other MiSHE members and learn new information. By becoming familiar with other people in the same or similar profession, MiSHE hopes to stimulate comradery and information exchange to enhance all members. Members have the opportunity to attend both a morning and an afternoon session.
