Minutes for the fall meeting that occurred at the annual conference were not available. Members in attendance agreed to review and email terry with approvals.

Treasurers Report

Terry gave the financial report Chapter balance brought forward on 1.01.10 or $2,231.77 and a $135.00 deposit from dues March 31, 2010. The final bank total is $2366.77. There were three scholarships paid by the chapter.

Old Business

There were ten $225.00 scholarships offered for the fall Annual Conference but only three were utilized.

New Business

Conference Scholarships: Members discuss the options to provide scholarships again this year. It was decided that ten $225 scholarships would be made available again this year to North Central members. Scholarships could be used in any combination up to $225 per hospital. If members chose to use it for a second and third person registrations, they might be able to get three people to the MiSHE conference and only spend $225 per hospital for registration. This year’s conference will be September 22 – 24 at Soaring Eagle Casino, Mt. Pleasant, Mi

Membership: Based on “paid membership dues” there are fifteen current members and four associate members. It was determined through discussion that there are still three hospitals were not represented by membership in the NC regional chapter: Alpena, Cadillac, and Cheboygan. Efforts will be made again to contact facilities managers of those institutions. A question arose about including terry Parkins from Mackinaw Straits Hospital with N.C as it may be closer. We will check with him and see if he’s interested unless there is a U.P. Chapter concern.

Newsletter: Not discussed but Pier-George is always looking for newsletter articles especially things that are happening within the region. John will submit information about this chapter meeting. New items occurring at member institutions are also encouraged.

Education: Brian shared information on rechargeable battery recycling. There are places like Loews, Home Depot and www.call2recycle.org 877.273.2925 that will accept used batteries without charge. It was decided that if an educational need arose, the Chapter would coordinate an additional meeting.

Adjourn

The meeting was adjourned at 1:53 PM. Some members had to leave while others stayed for a tour of the hospital. Jerry conducted a tour.
