MINUTES OF APRIL 18, 2007 MEETING OF NCMSHE

Meeting was hosted by the crew at Munson Medical Center. Meeting officially began at 10:00am. Our presenter for the event was Ken Louisingnau from StructureTec Corporation of Kalamazoo. His topic was the building envelope and he primarily focused on roofing issues. 14 members were in attendance. Following Ken’s presentation we were served lunch during which time we conducted a brief business meeting.

Treasurer’s report was presented and showed a balance of $3,048.89 in the bank account. MMSC (Boros/Berran) to once again offer scholarships to cover the attendance fee on a first come/first serve basis, with a limit of 5, to NCMSHE members to attend the annual conference to be held this September in Grand Rapids. Motion passed unanimously. Topics of discussion during the remainder of the meeting were the use of relocatable power taps, the fire proofing coating of clamps applied to steel beams post-construction, and the use of fire stop products. The fact the NCMSHE is a not for profit organization by extension (as a part of MISHE) with an EIN number of 38-2562983, and that we are a 501CG Fraternal organization by classification.

Next year MISHE will ask chapters for Treasurer’s Reports of which meeting minutes will suffice.

That in our bylaws we need to bequeath any monies to MISHE should we ever dissolve and it must be stated obviously in our bylaws.

The uniform dues structure was also discussed and it was felt by the members present that dues should not be increased even if the lion’s share of the dues remained in each region. It was felt that we already have concerns as to how best to spend the money we already have.

Following the meeting most members remained and were treaded to a tour of the new ED department and also additional new construction to house patients/nursing staff. The tour was conducted by Jim Fagen of MHC. The meeting concluded at approximately 1 p.m.
