East Central Michigan Minutes

ECMSHE meeting held April 11, 2000 at Fritz’s Restaurant, Richville, Michigan:

Treasurer’s Report: $6,433.92

Old Business:.
  Steve Jablonski has checked into other facilities for our meetings. No other place has offered a better space and price yet. It was decided to meet upstairs at “FRITZ’S” again in May. Price of meal $8.00.
  Possible changes to membership definition section of by-laws were discussed. Further revisions to draft of changes will be brought to next meeting. Budget proposals were deferred to next meeting after officers have had a chance to look over existing records.
  MiSHE internet site, http://www.mishe.org/: copies of minutes of the last two meetings will be posted. They are working on updating the posted ECMSHE member facility list.

New Business:
  It was announced that due to staffing changes within his own facility, Danny Dunn will no longer be able to attend meetings, therefore he has regretfully resigned as ECMSHE Treasurer. Steve Jablonski proposed and everyone agreed to honor him with a MiSHE jacket and a plaque to show our appreciation for his years of dedicated work as our treasurer. It was decided to obtain an audit of the treasurer books as a formality for transfer of books to new treasurer.
  It was decided to send out a flyer about our next meeting to other non-member facilities within our area and to a list of former members, as a way to increase awareness of our society and encourage attendance.

General Discussions:
  Suggestions about increasing associate membership, full membership and meeting attendance:
- fewer meetings but bigger agenda?
- morning meeting ending with lunch?
- round robin, zoned recruitment?
- associate members and vendors could donate door prizes?
- rotate meeting locations throughout area?
- paid motivational and informational speakers?
